Study Abroad Events

Throughout the year Study abroad and the Georgia College International Education Center hosts many events to answer any questions that you may have as well as help create a space for you to learn more about different cultures. Whether you have questions about financial aid, a better understanding of different cultures, or just have general questions about specific programs, one of our events is perfect for you. We have events in-person and virtually to make all students feel welcome. Take a look below to see all that we have coming up this year!

Opportunities Abroad Fair:

At the Opportunities Abroad Fair, find basic information on studying abroad straight from past participants, advisors, program directors, third party providers, and financial aid. The International Education Center and Study Abroad host fairs once a semester. Head to the Opportunities Abroad Page to get more information on an upcoming fair.

Virtual and In-Person Events:

We offer events throughout the semester that are fun and open to all students whether you are studying abroad or not. Stop by any event to get some more information or bring a friend and learn more about different cultures and travel.

Tabling:

Do you have questions about specific programs? Or do you just want to talk to an advisor casually about what options might be available for you? Periodically throughout the semester we will set up a Study Abroad table by the fountain. Check the schedule below for dates and stop by and see us.

Drop-In Advising Sessions:

Whether you have a quick question, need general information, or are ready to start your journey abroad, drop-in advising is here to serve you at your convenience. Drop-In Info Sessions are held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 2PM in the International Education Center. Weekly info sessions will begin August 23, 2022. No registration needed.

International Club:

International Club is open to both US and international students. We meet every other week and have socials all throughout the year. It’s a great way to meet students who studied abroad in the past and to learn about other cultures. Whether you have studied abroad, are from a different culture, or just have an interest in learning more all are welcome.
