Description: Understand the interrelationship of culture and evidence-based healthcare in Japan and the Philippines. Designed for Nursing and Pre-nursing students, this program will enable students to explore and compare different values, belies, traditions, economy and government and how these influence each country's healthcare systems. Students will visit healthcare sites and learn from healthcare providers. Experience the unique cultural combination of east and west through excursions to places of historical, cultural and societal importance in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Manila and Bohol. The Philippines is a developing nation comprised of thousands of islands, while Japan is a modern industrialized super economy with bullet trains and an exhilarating pop culture. These two countries provide two unique backdrops for students to experience the integration of theory and practice in global healthcare systems. In addition, students will have time to explore the sites, sounds and flavors of both culturally-rich Asian countries.
