GC Chile: Culture and the Professional World, Chile

GC Chile: Culture and the Professional World, Chile

May 8 - 29, 2022

Las Condes, Santiago

Have you ever wanted to live in a major Latin American city? Would you like to improve your Spanish by living with a host family? How about shadow a professional in a vibrant, Spanish-speaking business community? If you answered yes, then this program is for you! The courses will give students the opportunity to refine their practical Spanish vocabulary, as well as offer lessons in the pragmatics and practices of Latin American business. Students will also participate in a practicum which allows them to job shadow and/or intern with a professional person in fields including tourism, finance, accounting, or academia. Dr. Castroverde assists with finding the practicum placements.

FAQ For Students to Know:
How much free time will there be to do our own traveling?
Weekends and evenings will be free for students.  Many students also travel before or after the program.
Do you have any recommendations on where to go during our free time?
There are a lot of fun options for both during and after the program.  We will talk about this during orientation.

Do we go out to eat or have home-cooked meals?
Both, and all meals are of high quality. Many of our meals also include a discussion or Q&A with a member of the Santiago professional community.

What do the student accommodations look like on this trip?
We will stay in Santiago with host families.  Students will be matched with host families that cater to their interests and aspirations.

Any other cool fun facts or interesting information that is not on the brochure that you want students to know about you or your program?
Students will have a chance to do a practicum that offers invaluable experience and looks great on a resume. For students seeking this practicum opportunity, Dr. Castroverde will assist in finding a placement.
