In addition to our own faculty led study abroad programs, Georgia College partners with many institutions and organizations worldwide to provide our students a wide array of study, intern, and volunteer abroad opportunities.

For a complete listing of our partner institutions, check out our 2013 Semester Brochure.pdf

We also work with the University System of Georgia's European Council, Asia Council, ISEP, the Institute for Study Abroad, International Studies Abroad, the School for Field Studies, and the School for International Training.

There are several different program and fee models.
  • Faculty Led: these program titles start with Georgia College. Students pay Georgia College tuition directly to their student account. Program fees, which may cover a variety of expenses and are outlined in detail on the program brochure, are paid directly to the International Education Center online through the student's study abroad account or by visiting or phoning the office. In this model, a small group of students is led abroad by at least one Georgia College faculty member (or more)
  • Collaborative: these programs fall under the purview of another institution or organization in the University System of Georgia (i.e. European Council, Asia Council, Montepulciano, CSU Oxford). Students pay Georgia College tuition directly to their student account. Program fees, which may cover a variety of expenses and are outlined in detail on the program brochure, are paid directly to the program coordinator. In this model, a large group of students from the state of Georgia are led abroad by faculty from any participating institution in the University System of Georgia
  • Exchange: these institutions have an ongoing relationship with Georgia College. In most cases, students will pay Georgia College tuition directly to their student account. Living expenses, airfare, food, and other in country costs are paid a la carte directly to the service provider or host institution. In this model, individual students enroll as transient (exchange) students at the host institution, taking courses offered by the institution for one semester or year.
  • Direct Bill: these organizations and institutions (i.e. ISA, IFSA, SFS, SIT) have been selected by Georgia College faculty and staff after detailed scrutiny of risk management, health and safety standards as well as academic integrity. The direct bill organization will invoice Georgia College for the students' program fees, which are then posted to the students' accounts as a large tuition bill. Please visit the provider's website for full details on what is included in the program fee. In this model, individual students enroll as transient students at the host institution choosing from courses selected by the host institution.
